Third International Statistics Conference in Colombo

Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama was the Chief Guest at the Third International Statistics Conference (ISC), ‘Statistics for good Governance’ held at the Taj Samudra Hotel last week. The 3rd ISC was organized by the Institute of Applied Statistics Sri Lanka (IASSL) in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Maryland Baltimore Country (UMBC), USA, Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa and the National Science Foundation of Sri Lanka. Prof. (Mrs) Jessica Utts, the 2016 President of the American Statistical Association (ASA), USA and Prof. Bimal Sinha, UMBC, USA were present. Minister Dr. Amunugama represented the President at this meeting.
