Sly shades

7 January, 2018

The sun glares down the barren lands,
While the hours pass on sodden sands.
Once lush rich green thrived this park,
Merry songs and chirps sang the lark.
Now it's only him and him alone,
His siblings have passed along.
Pondering hours beneath golden skies,
While streams run down his gleamy eyes.
The night and dark have come too fast,
And lunar has taken time to last.
Lights fall low and thoughts rise high,
While all merry men have been too sly.
Bestowed his trust with ones with bone,
Who's been with him when lights have shone.
The moon failing to bring it back,
O, the dark silhouette who left his track.
