India, Sri Lanka to mark 70 years of independence

The High Commission of India has organised the cultural event ‘Bollywood and Beyond’ on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 6.45 p.m. at the BMICH, Colombo. The event will jointly celebrate 70 years of independence of India and Sri Lanka, popularly termed as “India and Sri Lanka @ 70”.

‘Bollywood and Beyond’, would showcase the beautiful blending of Indian and Western classical music with popular Bollywood songs, featuring violin maestro, Dr. L. Subramaniam, world famous singer Kavita Krishnamurthy, composer Bindu Subramaniam and eminent musicians from different parts of India.

Ministry of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs, Government of Sri Lanka, Lanka Indian Oil Corporation, Jet Airways, India Sri Lanka Foundation, and Taj Samudra are the partners.
