Five on a Treasure Island

 Second Prize

Among the books I have read so far, Five on a Treasure Island of the Famous Five series by Enid Blyton is one my favourites. It was first published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1942. The main characters are Julian, Dick, Anne, the tomboy George and Timmy the dog.

George’s parents own an island by the sea named “Kirrin” and she takes the others there by boat. There is an old castle in Kirrin Island and a ship wreck is washed ashore by a storm. The children find a treasure map in the ship wreck and find the treasure in the dungeons. But a gang of men also want the treasure and they capture Julian and George.

I like this book because it is adventurous and exciting. It teaches us how to achieve goals with unity.
