Double murder in Poddala
Two members of the same family were found killed yesterday morning at their residence at Mount Pleasant Watta, Wakwella of the Poddala Police division. The victims had been attacked with a sharp object the Police said. The victims have been identified as siblings of 75-year-old Jayanama Jagoda and 65-year-old Namini Jagoda. Suspects regarding the murder are yet to be identified. Poddala Police are investigating.
Heroin peddler nabbed
A man was arrested for possessing heroin in Slave Island on Friday. According to the Police, the suspect had two grams and 490 milligrams of heroin in his possession at the time of his arrest. The arrested individual is a 51-year-old from Wakanda Road, Colombo 2.
Motorcyclist killed in accident
A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a concrete pillar.
The accident occurred in the Lunawa area on Friday. The youth was declared dead after being admitted to the Lunawa Hospital. The victim has been identified as Krishan Shivantha of Koralawella.
