Awareness program on stroke prevention

A walk to create awareness on stroke prevention was organised by the National Stroke Association of Sri Lanka, Batticaloa District Secretariat, Batticaloa Teaching Hospital and several other organisations.

The walk commenced at the Kalladi Padum Meen Park and ended at the Weber Stadium yesterday.

The Governor Eastern Province Rohitha Bogollagama, Batticaloa District Secretary M. Uthayakumar and Director Teaching Hospital Batticaloa, Dr. Ibralebbe flagged off the procession.

‘Bringing Light to Darkness’ was the theme of the procession to mark National Stroke Prevention week. Several cultural items too were part of the awareness walk.
