Kasun Palisena back to prison; Aloysius still in hospital

Prisons Department sources yesterday confirmed that the CEO of Perpetual Treasuries Limited Kasun Palisena who was admitted to the Prisons Hospital was returned to remand prison yesterday afternoon while the owner of Perpetual Treasuries Arjun Aloysius continues to remain at the Prison Hospital.

Both Aloysius and Palisena who are under remand custody over the Central Bank Treasury Bond Scam had been admitted to the Prisons Hospital for a medical check-up on Wednesday (21) complaining of chest discomfort and back pain.

According to the sources, on Thursday (February 22), the Prison Hospital doctor had ordered both Aloysius and Palisena to be admitted to the Prisons Hospital for a medical check-up.

Palisena was subject to a medical check-up as he had complained of back pains and Aloysius was recommended for a check-up due to a urine infection and headache.

The two suspects are at the center of the Central Bank bond scam investigation were arrested on 4 February and placed in police custody. (UK)
