JVP to launch anti-racism movement

18 March, 2018

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) is set to launch a political movement against racism and communalism, its leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said.

The party has taken this decision following the recent troubling events which unfolded in Kandy leading to loss of life, injuries and extensive property damage.

According to Dissanayake, the national movement will commence with a series of rallies aimed at eradicating racism and communalism. “We have prepared several rallies to launch the anti-racism program which begins on Wednesday, March 21 in Colombo,” he said.

Rallies will also be held in Digana on March 28, and in Matara and Ampara on April 3 and 8 respectively.

“The recent local government polls campaigns were fuelled by communalism,” he said adding that the Rajapaksa camp made gains by creating racial and religious divisions in the country.

Dissanayake said what is needed now is the creation of a national unity movement as opposed to communal politics.

“We will stand up against any political movement that is fuelling racism in the country and create a political movement for national unity,” he said, adding, however, for the time being political communalism has won.

“But I believe we will be able to champion national unity politics in the future through our efforts,” he said.

All these gimmicks will never help JVP to set up a government of their own as a third political force. The mistake JVP made was to join hands with the UNP to topple Mahinda Rajapakse Government. That stigma will continue to haunt all their political future. JVP thought by using the corruption slogal against both Rajapaksas and the UNP they could be the third popular political force in Sri Lanka. But the people never pardoned them for the first mistake of banding together with UNP. Now they think the question of Racism will give them a new push? But Sinhala are not racists they are only the victims of Racism. Therefore the people will again hate JVP for dropping the Sinhala people . The only way JVP could make a come back is joining hands with a popular Socialist Party and the only one there is, is the SLPP. Take it or leave it JVP, you have no future otherwise.

An Idea is good for everybody. In political of democracy that practically we have understand unitary character of State in decisive in Republic Constitutional of Sri Lankan. It is that survival of Island civilization and its modern democracy system of governances looking for harmony and reconciliation of norms of democracy rule by majority voters. Not that divided Island by Racial or Religion basis-on that Tamils and Muslims are backward solution of ongoing uncertainties of modern the political-economic -social order by governances of that undermined Rule of democracy ? Well, being of all nationalities are that base on very foundation is Unity and Territorial integrity and Sovereignty of all nationalities.....Sri lanka? In fact that is task of democratic revolution has undertaken by any political parties in Left or Right-wing of that regardless their political differences they have to promised of Unitary natures of State. Indeed sorry to say political parties who advocated for Separatism or Federalism or power devolution of Police-power are roots goes to politics of anti-establishment of system of bourgeoisies democracy ? At the same time who advocated by Gun Rule politics are which similarly also anti-establishment of Democracy by previously advocated by JVP in past which belongs the same school of politics.? Hope Dr Anura Diaasanayake the one and only leaders of JVP has to change the path of politics are important democracy system of government in Lanka? To be in accepts not but bullet of that by ballot is real democracy reflected will and wish of majority people! By and large that anti- racism is "good Idea" of Politics. But it was there very start of JVP founder leader who JVP join 1966 anti-Tamil processing by PDN Wjeweera at Colombo 8th of January ---1966..... also racism !?@ $.
