Huawei unveils sophisticated smartphone

In keeping with the impressive performance in terms of sales volume and value, Huawei launched its latest smartphone device Huawei P20 Pro to the local market recently.

The smartphone, the newest range to be introduced in Sri Lanka, is a more sophisticated device than the mobile phones introduced earlier and named accordingly.

“We are aggressively capturing the Sri Lankan market and are planning to become the number one mobile phone in the market in the near future. With the in-build artificial intelligence features, the new smartphone is expected to attract more customers, especially the young generation,” Huawei Device Sri Lanka Country Head, Peter Liu said.

Huawei focused on providing continual innovation to transform customer experiences. “We are truly excited about the launch of yet another revolutionary product in Sri Lanka. The new device is a unique addition to our existing flagship portfolio. Through this introduction we will further consolidate our market offering establishing Huawei as a brand that constantly caters to distinct preferences and evolving customer needs,” he said.

Among the novel features of the Huawei P20 Pro are the world’s first triple rear camera and superior artificial intelligence technology.

“Today the smartphone has become a necessity and the demand for this device has been increased over the years. Therefore, quality smartphone could gain a sizable market share where Sri Lanka’s mobile penetration is high compared to the other developing countries,” he said.

This high-end smartphone will cater to the modern needs of the customers and will help the Huawei brand to further establish in Sri Lanka. As the national distributors of Huawei brand, Singer Sri Lanka will look forward to a win-win situation for both companies and customers, said Singer Sri Lanka Group CEO Asoka Pieris.

“We are optimistic about the brand consolidation in Sri Lanka and with a trusted company such as Singer is working towards gaining market leadership in the smartphone category,” he said.

The demand for Huawei devices has surged over the years and it has been accepted as a high-end device in the market. The brand is expected to reach modern customers who seek new technology and sophistication to retain their social esteem further, he said.

Huawei was ranked 83 in the top 100 of the latest Fortune 500 list and number 88 in Forbes World’s Valuable Brands list in 2017. The brand was ranked number 49 on BrandZ’s top 100 most valuable global brands. Recently, Huawei escalated to number 25 on the Brand Finance Global 500 most valuable brands 2018. Huawei has also achieved the number 70 status on Interbrand’s best global brands list. Huawei is positioned as Sri Lanka’s number one quality smartphone and has over the years proven this statement through its innovation and commitment to its unmatched quality.
