St. Peter’s Negombo, Rajasinghe Hanwella and Sri Dharmaloka Kelaniya have been promoted to play in the the Division One ‘Singer Trophy’ Under 15 inter school cricket tournament scheduled to start from May 20 with 83 teams contesting in 11 groups.
This tournament will be conducted under a new format from this year with all matches lasting one day for a minimum of 100 overs in the match. There will be no restrictions for the batting side.
St. Joseph’s College Wattala have been demoted to Division Two.
First round matches (83 teams) will be played on a league basis in 11 groups and 40 teams will qualify for the second round. The second round will be played on a league basis in eight groups. The champions and runner-up teams in the eight groups will feature in the knock-out pre-quarter finals.
