Jayasuriya, Priyanjan smash tons as Colombo and Galle win

Colombo recorded their second win and lead the points table at the SLC Super Provincial One Day (cricket) Tournament yesterday.

Colombo beat team Kandy by 58 runs in the match played at the R. Premadasa stadium while in another match of the same tournament Galle beat Dambulla by 11 runs according to the D/L system at the CCC ground in Colombo yesterday.

Shehan Jayasuriya (Colombo) and Ashan Priyanjan (Dambulla) made centuries for their respective teams.Colombo were bowled out for 299 runs in 49.2 overs as Jayasuriya smashed 110 in 100 balls with 11 fours and three sixes while Chamara Silva scored 87 in 90 balls with 10 boundaries.

Kandy were bowled out for 241 runs in 43.4 overs as Mahela Udawatte made 71 runs and Niroshan Dickwella chipped in with 60 in 62 balls.

Galle beat Dambulla on D/Lsystem

Dambulla scored 258 in their allotted 50 overs as Ashan Priyanjan made 101 in 120 balls with six boundaries and four sixes.

Milinda Siriwardena chipped in with 45 runs as Dasun Sahanka claimed 3 wickets for 42 runs.

Galle were 250 runs for eight wickets in 46 overs when the match was stopped due to poor light and were declared winners on the DL System as skipper Upul Tharanga cracked 86 in 79 balls with 11 boundaries and a six.

Asitha Fernando took 3 wickets for 63 runs while Amila Aponso took 2 wickets for 34 runs.
