Dewmith appeals for help

Deshaja Dewmith (16) of C 02/G 01, Himbutu Uyana Housing Scheme, Mulleriyawa is diagnosed with Dural Arterio Venous Fistula fed by multiple branches arising from both external carotid arteries by Consultant Interventional Radiologists, Nihal Wijewardena and Lakmali Paranahewa.

The doctors have decided to have the operation performed by Prof. Santhosh Joseph at the Chennai Sri Ramachandra Medical College. Accordingly, under doctors’ advice, DSA scan and reports were sent to Professor Santhosh Joseph of Chennai Sri Ramachandra Medical College.

The cost for the operation will be between USD 31,000 and 40,000 as the medical bill excluding ICU charges and the total would be around Rs. 9m.

Dewmith’s father has collected Rs. 3m and another Rs. 6m is needed to save his son’s life. As a government pensioner he is not in a position to afford such a huge sum and appeals for assistance from generous public, which could be remitted to A/C in the name M.G.G.
