Lecture by Prof. Neil De Votta at ICES

Dr. Neil De Votta, Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Wake Forest University, USA will deliver a lecture on “Facets of Populism and the Threat to Liberal Democracy” at the ICES Auditorium, No 2, Kynsey Terrace, Colombo 8 on Thursday, May 17, at 4:30pm. Dr. De Votta’s research interests include South Asian security and politics, ethnicity and nationalism, ethnic conflict resolution, and democratic transition and consolidation. He is the author of Blowback, Linguistic Nationalism, Institutional Decay, and Ethnic Conflict in Sri Lanka.

His current research examines the links between nationalist ideologies and communal violence in South Asia.
