In line with the National Ranaviru Commemoration month in May, the SDB bank is actively participating in the flag pinning event as a CSR initiative. In order to pay gratitude to the war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the motherland, the annual commemoration month for war heroes was declared by the Government.
SDB bank is opening its islandwide branch network for this initiative and will be collecting funds from customers by pinning flags. The fund collected via this initiative will be given to the Ranaviru Seva Authority Welfare Fund. The official event of this CSR initiative by SDB bank began with Mrs. Anoma Fonseka – Chairperson of Ranaviru Seva Authority pinning the flag on Mrs. Samadanie Kiriwandeniya – Chairperson of SDB bank at SDB bank Head Office last week.
SDB bank is involved in enhancing the lifestyle of the war heroes and their families under the Uththamachara project. Also, war heroes and families are encouraged to start income generating SMEs.
The SDB bank has taken measures to conduct a series of programs along with National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) and SED division in order to educate the war heroes and families regarding financial literacy, skill developments. Moreover, SDB bank inculcates the savings habit to provide a better tomorrow for war heroes and their families.
