People’s Bank marks 57th anniversary

People’s Bank celebrated its 57th anniversary, which fell on July 1, with a series of religious programs. Organised by the Bank’s Buddhist Association, Hindu Association, Muslim Majlis and the Christian Guild, the religious observances were held at People’s Bank Head Office premises. A large gathering of bank employees were present.

The Buddhist Association organised an all-night Pirith ceremony on June 30, which was followed by an alms giving for 57 Buddhist monks the next day. Hindu Association, Muslim Majlis and the Christian Guild of People’s Bank also conducted respective religious observances recently.

The religious programs were organised to invoke blessings to the country, its people and customers as well as the founders of People’s Bank. CEO/ General Manager of People’s Bank N. Vasantha Kumar, Corporate and Executive Management of the bank also took part.
