W.P. Somawardene's Kavi Mal Uyana is a well-written poetry book for children from Grade 1 to 13 as stated by him. The contents are simple resourceful and exciting and help promote personality development of children in their formative year.
The poetry is mainly based on National heritages, history, folk stories, biography and religious events of significance and beauty of the nature.
