The Annual General Meeting of the Vehicle Importers Association of Sri Lanka (VIASL) was held last week and new members were elected for the upcoming year 2018/2019.
VIASL was inaugurated in the early 1980s and it comprises of most of the pioneer and leading vehicle importers in Sri Lanka. The main objective of forming this association by uniting all reliable vehicle importers is to supply a range of economical and quality motor vehicles to Sri Lankan customers at an affordable price.
President, Ranjan Peiris and the office bearers vowed to contribute their best to the progress of the association in the upcoming year as well and also to shape up the motor vehicle industry in order to establish a trouble-free environment for all the vehicle importers of Sri Lanka to carry out their businesses smoothly.
VIASL also launched a new logo - it will be considered as the official logo of the Vehicle Importers Association of Sri Lanka.
The newly appointed Committee plans to abolish the monopoly when bidding for government tenders as the government is forced to buy vehicles at a higher rate from agents, wasting public money.
