Sri Lanka Economic Summit

5 August, 2018

The session titled ‘Sri Lanka INC - Transforming into the Digital Economy’ which is to be held at Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo on September 13 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Economic Summit 2018, aims to inspire local companies to think global, highlight success stories and provide trends of what is to come. The focus of this session will be twofold – the first is on “Power houses in the digital era” and the second is “New business models for the digital economy”.

Drawing from the expertise of the Chief Digital Officer of MAS Holdings, Mr. Jehan Mutaliph, and Executive Vice President/Group CIO of John Keells Holdings PLC, Mr. Ramesh Shanmuganathan, success stories of these two power house companies in the digital era will be shared, showcasing their exemplary and inspiring strategies for local businesses to follow and build on.

Business models suited for contributing and flourishing in a digital economy will be outlined by Ms. Lakmini Wijesundera, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Global Operations of IronOne Technologies (Pvt) Ltd, Mr. Dulith Herath, Founder/CEO of Kapruka, and Mr. Dee Liyanwela, Head of LSEG Sri Lanka.

Mr. Shamindra Kulamannage, Editor-in-Chief of Echelon Magazine will moderate both panel discussions, with Mr. Dammika Ganegama, Managing Director of Mitra Innovation joining the second discussion as a panelist.

Knowledge sharing and case studies make the summit the ideal platform to link the shaping of the turnaround in the national economy with what the private sector can contribute in this endeavour in particular to push Sri Lanka as a formidable digital economy.
