The English Literary Society of Zahira College, Colombo held its Annual English Day Awards Ceremony recently. It was held at the College Abdul Gaffoor Hall under the patronage of Principal Trizviiy Marikkar.
Sri Jayawardenapura University Senior Lecturer, Mufeeda Irshad was chief guest and distributed certificates to the winners of the various competitions - Poetry, Oratory, Creative Writing, Copy Writing and Dictation.
The ceremony was organized by the Teacher in Charge of the English Literary Society, Azmina Azmi with the help of the teachers of the English Section. Principal Trizviiy Marikkar presented a memento to the chief guest. Deputy Principal Mohamed Razeen, Senior Vice Principal Ananda Ponnamperuma, Vice Principals Hijazi Mohideen, M.T.A. Rauff along with sectional heads, teachers, students and parents graced the event.
