Kodithuwaku heads Old Sylvestrians

USK Kodithuwakku was re-elected as president of Old Sylvestrians SC along with senior vice president Anura Jaysinghe and vice presidents Dr. M. Waffan, S.B Dissanayake, A.S. Dangie, Nihal Nanayakara, Nimal Hope, secreatry Suranga Nandasiri, assitant secretaries Ruwan Gunasena, Susantha Wijeratne, Priyantha Perera, Nilanka Dissanayke and Indika Wijesinghe. The treasurer is A.M. Lakshman Amarakoon and chief organizer Janaka Udagameda.

Old Antonians Cricket Wing

Old Antonians Cricket Wing elected former player Chandika Jayawardena as their president for 2018/19 at its AGM. Jayawardena has got a good set of past cricketers who are all out to give their best together with the rest of the old boys.

President: Chandika Jayawardena, immediate past president Asela Herath. Vice Presidents: Indika Galagoda, Ramachandra Hashok, Ramachandra Sivakumar, Angelo Wickramasuriya Samson Burke. Secretary: Pramodth Fernando. Assistant secretary: Sameera Weerabahu. Treasurer: Zaharan Liyabdeen. Assistant Treasurer: Chinthaka Girihagama. Committee: Chandra Mahawattage Lt. Col. Sampath Bulathgama, Amedha Ellepola, Sanjaya Sirisena, Mahesh Tennegedara, Mathavan Premkumar, Niresh Liyanage, Mohamed Azari, Mohamed Emadh Mohamed Alfer, Lasantha Basnayake, Lasantha Bandaranayake, Nimesha Gunasinghe Shameer Munas, Ladislaus Gnanapragasam, Sumedha Arawwawala: Media coordinator: Jude Xavier. Kandy Div 3 final

Though it was late to finish the tournament, the champions were found last Saturday, where Onslaught CC emerged as champions by beating Liverpool CC in the Division III final of the Kandy District Cricket Tournament. The final took place at Police Ground matting wicket where 26 teams were seen in action.

Randel Hills coaching academy

Kingswood College’s cricket wing has introduced the Randle Hills Cricket Academy to uplift the standard of cricket at the school in the under-10, 12 and 14 levels. The coaching team is headed by famous coach Malcom Perera the former director of coaching of Sri Lanka Cricket, who held this post for 13 long years. He was also the junior cricket coach of Bangladesh and is a Level 4 qualified coach. He is well backed by former Antonian captain a Level II qualified coach Prasad Ranawake, Harshana Udana a qualified Level II coach and former Kingswoodian skipper Ruwantha Hathurusinghe. Deputy principal and POG Lanka Francis and Gayan Ferando of the Cricket Wing is the manager of the entire project.

Kandy SC contest Western Club championship

For the fourth time Kandy Sports Club will be playing in the Asia Rugby Western Club Champions League tournament. This is a tournament where the league champions from each country meet on the global stage. Last year Bharain RFC emerged victorious by beating Kandy Sports Club .

This time only three teams are involved. Kandy SC’s first match is on August 31 against the Bahrain Lions RFC at Nittawela and they will meet Abu Dhabi Harlequins away on September 7.
