Jeewan Kumara from Air Force and L.G.Chandirika from Army were adjudged best boxers in the ABA Men’s and Women’s Layton Cup championship held at the Royal- MAS Arena yesterday.
Meanwhile in the men’s event Sanjeewa Nuwan from Army was the best loser while P.K.R Kaushalya become the best loser in the women’s event.
The four-day event had less participation due to organizing failures on the part of the Sri Lanka Boxing Federation according to an official.
Anusha Kodituwakku, Keshani Hansika and Krishmi Dharmathilaka who have already been selected for the Asian Games took part in the meet.
But notable absentees were Thiwanka Ranasinghe, Isan Bandara and Dinidu Saparamadu who are also part of the Asian Games contingent. (KR)
