Entrust Securities Chairman summoned over dodgy transactions with Yoshitha Rajapaksa

26 August, 2018

The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) issued warrants last week to Isira Dharmapriya Dissanayake the Chairman of Entrust Securities, to question them about the debatable transactions between his company to the Carlton Sports Network (CSN) owner and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son Yoshitha Rajapaksa. Dissanayake was summoned according to information disclosed at FCID investigations on CSN. Investigations had uncovered, Entrust Securities’ debiting of Rs. 1 million and Rs 600,000 to Yoshitha Rajapaksa’s bank account on two occasions, reliable sources told Sunday Observer.

These transactions have not been marked in financial reports of Entrust Securities and Isira Dissanayake had been avoiding the courts when these transactions were being questioned, , it was further reported.

This warrant was issued from the Kaduwela magistrate court to the FCID which is leading the investigation in that court.

Entrust Securities owned the Rugby team ‘Western Warriors’ in which the captain was Yoshitha Rajapaksa. Western Warriors was a team attached to the Carlton Rugby Tournament connected to the ex-President’s elder son Namal Rajapaksa. Minister Kabir Hashim claimed last year that Entrust Securities had robbed Rs. 12 billion from pension funds, cooperative society funds and other investors and then bribed the Rajapaksa sons in order to avoid investigations into their misconduct.
