DSV partners Pership Group

A leading transport and logistics company DSV recently partnered with Pership Group to expand its local and international freight forwarding and related businesses.

We consider Sri Lanka to be an extremely important market and work closely to provide a seamless integrated service to our customers,” Chairman Pership Group, Manik Pereira said at the ceremony to celebrate the partnership in Colombo.

“We continuously focus our attention towards customer satisfaction and strive to meet expectations at all times.

The company emphasizes on growth and stability to its stakeholders to ensure a win-win situation,” he said.

“DSV is a global brand reputed as an international supplier of transport and logistics. We are confident that our presence in Sri Lanka will boost the logistics industry of the country,” he said.

Commenting that DSV commenced activities with Sri Lanka 15 years ago as UTI Pership and had a fruitful relationship, Regional Director DSV Air and Sea, Indian Sub Continent, Sameer Khatri said during this period DSV focused its attention towards customers and growth of the company.

“In 2016 DSV acquired UTI globally and now we are among the largest freight forwarding companies with a turnover of US $ 14 billion,” he said.

“Since 1987, DSV has been listed on the stock exchange in Copenhagen and is one of the 25 most traded Danish shares. Since then our company started growing after buying other transport and logistics companies in Denmark, Scandinavia and other countries as well as in many other countries,” he said.

The company’s global network was created through mergers and acquisitions with over 50 companies worldwide. DSV’s recent most successful acquisition was UTI and currently DSV is the largest global player in the transport and logistics industry, he said.

He also highlighted that DSV is now able to expand services for Sri Lankan customers in air, sea and road transportation.

The launch of the DSV/ Pership partnership was held in Colombo with the participation of Chairman Pership Group Manik Pereira, Deputy Chairman Jehan Edwards, Managing Director Nirmalee Pereira, Group Director Rohan Fernando, Regional Director DSV Air and Sea, Indian Sub Continent Sameer Khatri .
