Veteran award-winning playwright Peter Wedamuni’s hilarious family play ‘Royal Ibbek’ based on a political theme that highlights the importance of a capable ruler for a stable nation will go on the boards at at the Namel Manel Punchi Theatre, Borella, on Sunday, September 23, at 3.30 pm and 6.45pm .
An artiste’s prime motive should be to speak to the heart of the public, says Wedamuni and that’s what he does with his plays.
The play stars Dimuth Chinthaka, Rajasinghe Loluwagoda, Lakshman Amerasekera and Gamini Weerakoon, with music by Edward Jayakody and creative backdrops and makeup by Sirinatha Wickramasinghe.
