Architect 2019 was launched at Hotel Kingsbury, Colombo recently with the participation of the previous year patron companies and members of SLIA.

There was an interesting item added to the agenda this year. Fourteen stalls were auctioned for the first time. Interested stall holders were able to get the best stalls in the lobby.

Following a brief welcome address by Vice President SLIA and Chairman of Exhibition Committee, Russel Dandeniya and a discourse by President SLIA, D. H. Wijewardena, the event advanced into the presentation of redesigned stall layouts which showed 318 trade stalls and 124 display panels of work done by Architects and focused into the online stall reservation system.

Architect 2019 will open on February 20, 2019 followed by the National Conference on February 21. The Inaugural opening of the Exhibition will take place on February 20 and will be open to the public for four days from February 21-24 from 10.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.

Sponsors of the previous year events, Alumex PLC, Ranjanas Ceramics, Nippon Paints Lanka were recognised for their patronage and awarded tokens of appreciation with a new addition of Regional Members Exhibition sponsored by Udaya Constructions which was held in Matara.

The re-designed layout for Architect 2019 will feature more interactive public access and participation, making it more attractive for the building trade. As usual the exhibition will be dedicated to school children for one day to enhance their knowledge.

The annual Architect’s exhibition has evolved into the most desired platform for the public to access latest products and services available in the construction industry. Architect 2018 Trade Exhibition featured 158 companies occupying 270 stalls and exhibiting the latest products the industry has to offer. During these four days more than 65,000 interested individuals visited the exhibition and stall holders were quite satisfied with the enthusiasm shown by visitors and the new business opportunities which opened up through their participation in this mega exhibition.
