Niluka Kadurugamuwa, a career diplomat currently attached to the Foreign Ministry in Colombo, won the award for the Best Novel in Translation (Sinhala) category for Isabel Allende’s ‘Island Beneath the Sea,’ at the State Literary Awards Ceremony, 2018.
Kadurugamuwa, a graduate of the University of Kelaniya has served in Sri Lanka missions in Rome, Bangkok and New York and has translated several well known literary works into Sinhala.
