Sri Lanka crushed by Hong Kong

16 September, 2018

Sri Lanka were defeated by Hong Kong 31-0 in their semi final at the Asian Rugby Sevens in Hong Kong yesterday.

Sri Lanka entered the semi finals after finishing second in their group behind Japan.Sri Lanka were completely outplayed by the home team and had no chance of matching them in attack or defence.

Jamie Hood scored first for Hong Kong followed by Kam Shing Yu scoring next for a 14-0 at half time.

The second half was no different and the Sri Lankans could do nothing worthy as wingers Reeza Raffaideen and Buddhima Piyarathana could not find their feet. Sri Lanka had some chances to score but poor ball handling could not take them near to crossing the line for tries.

Sri Lanka will face the Philippines in the quest for the third place.
