Second Prize : Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief

Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan is an adventure story. This book was first published in June 2005 by Miramax books. The book is about a twelve-year-old boy Percy who after jaw dropping situations along with his friend Grover, enters Camp Half-Blood as he is proven to be the son of the Greek god Poseidon which ultimately makes Percy a half-blood.

Simultaneously the god Zeus finds that his mighty lightning bolt is missing and his prime suspect is Percy. Together with his friends Annabeth who is the daughter of the goddess Athena and Grover who is a satyr, they complete their quest to prove Zeus wrong and find the lightning bolt and return it to him. With the help of Persephone's pearls in revealing the path to the underworld, Percy is the only person who can regain everyone's trust and bring back unity to Mount Olympus.

I especially love this book because of its creativity and the hypnotizing adventures and mystical monstrous creatures the story consists of. Join Percy to unveil the secrets of the complete series.
