Sri Lanka pick potential Youth World Cup squad

Sri Lanka picked a 20-member Under-19 cricket squad to take on Bangladesh who will make a tour of the island starting on October 10.

The selected players are likely to make it to the Youth World Cup scheduled for next year depending on their performances.

Sri Lanka U-19 squad: Kamil Mishara (Royal), Navod Paranavithana (Mahinda), Dineth Jayakody (St. Joseph’s), Nipun Dhananjaya (Joseph Vaz), Sonal Dinusha (Mahanama), Mohamed Shamaz (Zahira), Janith Perera (St. Sebastian’s), Wellalage (St. Joseph’s), Sandun Mendis (Richmond), V Kanthan (Jaffna Central), A Dilhara (St. John’s Panadura), Avishka Tharindu (St. Anthony’s Wattala), C Kalindu (St. Servatius), Rohan Sanjaya (Tissa Kalutara), C Wijesinghe (Nalanda), Navin Fernando (Maris Stella), Ashen Daniel (St. Joseph’s), MC Premadasa (Maliyadeva), Pravin de Silva (Gurukula), R de Silva (Nalanda).
