Air Force came from behind to beat Army 3-1 in a Women’s Premier League Division One football encounter played at Air Force ground in Ekala last Monday.
Army scored first through a goal by I.L. Liyanage in the 22nd minute. Air Force then scored their three goals towards the end of the game. W.M. Gunasekera scored in the 80th minute to equalize. Then R.M. Ekanayake scored two goals in the 87th and 90th minutes to give Air Force victory.
Navy rout Police
In another women’s football game Navy routed Police by 5-0 at the same venue.
The goals for Navy were scored by N.S. Manawadu (2 goals), K.P.S. Perera, W.D.I.S Dias and R.M.S.M. Ratnayake.
