A community library was opened at the Wehera Oya Estate in Damunugala, Kurunegala recently for the villagers in the area. Children attending several schools in the vicinity will have access to the free library service offered. English language, Computer and after school programmes will be offered free of charge to students. Purchase of books for the library was made possible through a scholarship offered by University of California, Irvine, Barnes and Noble to Danushi de Silva, a final year student of the university majoring in Sociology and International Studies.
