The fundamental rights petition filed by senior Attorney-at-Law, public interest litigator and human rights activist Nagananda Kodituwakku in the Supreme Court seeking President Maithripala Sirisena’s notification in the government gazette of October 27, 2018, proroguing Parliament until November 16 to be declared null and void will be taken up tomorrow for grant of leave to proceed. The petitioner has stated that President Maithripala Sirisena’s gazette notification that has been issued without valid reasons. The notification is also a violation of the fundamental rights of the people, Kodituwakku had stated in his petition.
