11 November, 2018

The ‘World Diabetes Federation’ has chosen the theme ‘The Family and Diabetes’ for ‘World Diabetes Day’ to raise awareness about the disease.

The aim is to involve the entire family to fight diabetes. With the collective efforts of the family directed towards regular exercises and a healthy diet, the family will be making an all-out effort to prevent or eradicate it. Mega Lifesciences, a human wellness company through its flagship brand Ginsomin encourages all Sri Lankans to take positive steps to prevent diabetes and have an excellent quality of life.

Ginsomin contains the original Korean panax ginseng fortified with essential vitamins and minerals for an active, energetic, strong and happy life.

Ginseng has a 5,000 year old history as a panacea for all illnesses. It improves insulin sensitivity and reduces insulin resistance in the body, so that insulin can exert its effect in transporting glucose from the food we eat into every cell in the body, and ensure they work well for optimum performance.

The former Secretary General of the UN, Ban Ki Moon, said in 2016 that diabetes is an ancient disease that is taking its toll on the modern world and Dr. Margaret Chan, former Director General of the WHO, said on World Health Day, 2016, that diabetes is an important cause of blindness, kidney failure and limb amputations that decreases the quality of life of millions of people.

However, diabetes can be prevented, treated, cured and even reversed.
