JAYASEKERA - SUJATA IDDAMALGODA,​ passed away on June 16,​ 2018 after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of Hamilton Jayasekera (Post Master - Sri Lanka),​ loving mother of Anura Jayasekera and Vinita Witanachchi and loving mother-in-law of Duthika Cyril and Sarath Witanachchi. She was very much loved by all her grandchildren,​ Sitara,​ Chiran,​ Kokila,​ Migara,​ Ereka and Gordon. Sujata was an English Specialist Teacher at Central College,​ Piliyandala. After immigrating to the USA in 1986 she lived with her husband and daughter’s family in Florida. She was an avid reader,​ an animal lover who was always there for needy stray cats & dogs and had a huge heart of compassion to help anyone in need. She was greatly admired by all her students. Always clad in Kandyan saree,​ her loyalty to Sri Lanka as her motherland was so great that she refused even to relinquish her Sri Lankan citizenship,​ as a result,​ despite living over 30 years in the USA,​ she passed away as a Sri Lankan citizen. Cremation was held on June 21,​ 2018 among family and friends. Her husband and children express their gratitude to all those who attended the cremation and assisted and comforted them during this sad time.128485

Much loved and most loving mother and mother-in-law of Sherran & Monika Rajaratnam (UK),​ cherished daughter of the late Charles & Nancy Jeevaratnam,​ loved and loving sister and sister-in-law of Emil & Leilani Jeevaratnam (UK). Cherry & Shiranee Jeevaratnam (Canada),​ and also of Rowena Russell (UK). Former wife of Loges Rajaratnam (UK),​ and daughter-in-law of the late Rasa & Muriel Chelvathy Rajaratnam,​ granddaughter of the late Emily & Charles Gnanapragasam of Manipay,​ Jaffna and the late Victoria & Thomas Kandiah of Kalmunai,​ Batticaloa. Called home on 31st October 2018. The funeral service will be held at 1:45 p.m. (GMT) on 15th November 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church,​ Bexleyheath,​ Kent (UK),​ followed by a cremation service at the Eltham Crematorium,​ Kent (UK).
