Former president of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka Rangith Rodrigo has said he has doubts over the ability of the team’s coach Nizam Packeer to move forward.
Rodrigo made the remarks in a television interview.
“How a person like Packeer Ali can do the best I don’t know. It is like trying to drive a vehicle at 100 KMPH when the capacity of the vehicle is 60 KMPH”, said Rodrigo.
But Packeer Ali said that he has enough credentials to prove he is capable after coaching York SC which he said won the Bandaranaike Memorial Cup, MH Mohamed Cup, Power Cup and the FA Cup.
Ali also claimed that he has the fullest backing of the head of the FFSL Anura de Silva.
