All of us are wired with unique gifts, talents, creativity and strength. There was nobody exactly like us before, never will there be again! We have been created to achieve specific destinies.
These days there are many voices clamouring to get our attention. But, we need to calm ourselves and learn to hear our inner voice – which is our true self. This way, we will be able to appreciate the treasures and talents that have been deposited in us. We will also be able to match and align those talents and gifts with our inner dreams and desires.
Many times, we go through life feeling discouraged, frustrated and disillusioned because we are not living the life we are created to live. When our jobs and what we do for a living do not match our in-born gifts and talents, we feel unhappy and experience the weight and drag of life.
We can see this perfectly demonstrated in animals. For example, a hunting dog will be miserable if you keep it tied indoors. But, the moment, you take the dog on a hunting expedition, it would come alive barking, leaping and jumping for joy. The same is true with every living species on planet earth and we humans are no exception.
Discover your sense of destiny
We have been deposited with invaluable treasures within us. We need to take steps to bring the hidden treasures and talents to the open, so that they become a blessing not only to us but also for those around us.
The biggest question is, how do you discover your sense of destiny? Is it a complicated process, where you have to take endless psychometric tests to determine your true self? No! It is simple, straight forward and accessible to everyone and anyone: it zeros in on what excites you. It is all about what you are drawn to and passionate about. Is there something you love and enjoy doing that it energises and recharges your batteries? In all probability that is the destiny to which your heart is wired.
For instance, some have the amazing talent and gifts to excel in the teaching profession. They possess a lot of patience and the gift to take intricate subjects and break them into small chunks which could be easily understood. Then, there are others, who naturally enjoy the company of people, communicating with and meeting the needs of people and communities. They make excellent sales persons or communicators. There is another special breed who are driven by the vision to accomplish things for the betterment of the masses and end up becoming natural leaders. Some can sing effortlessly, write songs and make musical instruments talk. It is no wonder they are phenomenal musicians. There are others who are so kind and compassionate that they find their niche in the medical, social or care giving professions.
Fulfil your destiny intentionally
Take a few moments to check out what you are passionate about and what comes naturally to you. Then, start to work on those strengths. Don’t fall into the trap of trying to be somebody who you admire, because, on many occasions, those shoes might not be the right fit for you.
Find the slot that makes your heart to miss a couple of beats. In all probability that would be something you love. People often say that in life we do eighty percent of things we don’t love, simply to enjoy the remaining twenty percent. Isn’t it any wonder that our lives become such a drag and we dread going to work, as our work deteriorates becoming meaningless and mundane?
Let us not be unkind to ourselves. Do not spend your life in meaningless existence doing what you don’t like to do or be involved in. Master the art of listening to your heart. Do not be afraid to rock the boat. Do not be intimidated by others. Be true to yourself and dare to live out your destiny.
