Prophet Muhammad's Birthday

25 November, 2018

The moon for the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal was sighted and hence the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal fell on Tuesday, November 20. Holy Prophet Muhammad's birthday also known as Meelad-Un-Nabi was celebrated around the world, on that day.

It is a significant day for Muslims. While celebrating this solemn occasion we must follow the teachings of our Holy Prophet in our day to day life which alone will bring emancipation and salvation to suffering mankind.

The birthday of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAL) is a blessing to the whole world and his life an example to humanity. He was also known as 'Al Ameen' during the early Mecca period due to his honesty.

Prophet Muhammad believed in leading by example and was known for being patient and even tempered.

Muhammad was born in Makah in the year 570. His father died before he was born and his mother died shortly thereafter. He was raised by his uncle who was from the respected tribe of Quraysh. He was raised illiterate - unable to read or write, and remained so till his death. His people, before his mission as a prophet, were ignorant of Science and most of them were illiterate.

As he grew up, he became known to be truthful, trustworthy, generous and sincere. He was so trustworthy that they called him the 'Trustworthy'. On this significant day we pray for peace and prosperity in the country where people of all faiths can live happily and peacefully.
