Sunil Santha’s 103rd Birth Anniversary celebrations

Sunil Santha Society, headed by Lanka Santha is planning to hold a series of commemorative programs at Peradeniya and Colombo, to mark the 103rd birth anniversary of Sunil Santha, the maestro musician of yesteryear. Accordingly, Sunil Santha musical extravaganza titled ‘My Dreams’ will come on stage at the Prof E.O.E. Pereira Auditorium of the Engineering Faculty, Peradeniya University, on November 27 at 6 p.m organized by the student society of the campus. Popular singers T.M. Jayaratne, Nalini Ranasinghe, Kirthi Pasqual, Nadeeka Guruge, Indika Upamali, Sashika Nisansala and Rodney Wamakula are among the artistes who will patronize the event. Campus students will join in the chorus singing to the orchestra of Suresh Maliyadda, a leading musician.

The script has been finalized by Wasantha Kulathuga and the concert management will be in the hands of Pushkara Wanniarachchi.

Also, the annual Sunil Santha commemorative Lecture will be delivered at the Disaster Management Ministry Auditorium, Vidya Mawatha, Colombo 7, on December 4 at 2.30 p.m.. This year, ‘Concept Frames on Sinhala Music and Sunil Santha’ is the title of the lecture to be delivered by Dr. Sunil Wijesiriwardena. Participants in the audience will receive a handout comprising the contents of the lecture to be delivered. Nadeeka Guruge and Indika Upamali will render musical and visual support to the lecture. The Sunil Santha Society cordially invites all fans, music lovers, and especially, students of music to attend this rare event.
