The awards ceremony of the Art Competition organised by Sriyani Dress Point, Kegalle, to mark World Children's Day was held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Auditorium, Polgolla recently.
There were thousands of participants under six categories at this grand annual event, which has been popular among students.
Chairman of Sriyani Dress Point, M.Selvaraja said that the main objective of the event is to recognise the talents of students island-wide in the belief that students are the future leaders of our country. The winners of each category are as follows: Preschool, Kindergarten - R.M.A Rathnayake Indunil, Peradeniya; Grades 1-3 - Navika Mandara Amarasinghe, Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala; Grade 4-5 Section - N.M. Noojitha Bandara, Paranagama Primary School, Paranagama; Grades 6-8 - W.M. Sathmi Walisundara, Girls' High School, Kandy; Grades 9-11 - Udani Paranagama, Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy and Grades 12-13.
