BOC opens 1000th ATM/CDM in Kuliyapitiya

The Bank of Ceylon (BOC) installed its 1000th ATM/CDM point at the Kuliyapitiya second branch recently in line with the opening of the newly relocated branch.

The 1,000th machine was opened by Deputy General Manager Sales and Channel Management C. Amarasinghe.

The BOC began its digital transformation journey in 2015. Customers throughout the country can enjoy seamless banking transaction 24 x 7 with these strategically located CDM/ATM machines.

Head of IT, Laxman Perera said, “Our mission to empower the people with convenient access to banking despite geographical barriers, has been a success story. We have enriched the lives of the rural population through our digitisation strategy. We have connected our customers to transact among each other wherever they are and whenever they want.”

Sales and Channel Management Deputy General Manager C. Amarasinghe said, “Our reach has become one of our greatest strengths. It strengthens our claim on the title-Banker’s to the Nation’. The initiative is another step forward to provide a reliable and convenient banking service to customers around the clock. We look forward to move forward with the process by identifying strategic hot-spots in outer Colombo areas.”

The machine also accepts deposits by ATM cards or fund transfers by keying debit account and the credit account numbers as per instructions displayed on CDMs graphic screen.

Customers will receive a detailed mini-statement once the transaction is completed. If customers prefer to make the transaction paperless, the CDM gives the customer the opportunity to activate an SMS alert to be received to a mobile number.
