‘Let us save Adam’s Peak from pollution’ : Link Natural Products launches awareness program

9 December, 2018

We invite you to join our social media network and our website www.savesripada.lk to save Adam’s Peak and to join our Shramadana campaign to be held on December 29, January 12 and 20, said musician Sanka Dineth at a media briefing organised by Link Natural Products recently.

It is of religious importance because of the holy foot print and thousands of people of different religions visit it. The influx of visitors leads to environmental pollution, adversely effecting the natural beauty of Adam’s Peak.

“While being on pilgrimage, people dispose their garbage on this religious place viciously. It is our responsibility to protect Adam’s Peak and not transform it to a garbage heap. Youngsters can handle challenges. My aim is to get together with young people to protect Adam’s Peak. Musician Edward Jayakody and I created a song ‘Asiri Surakimu Samanala…’

Link’s Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Priyantha Kolonnage said, “We have been providing Link Samahan and SP balm to those on pilgrimage to Adam’s Peak for over six years. This year we have initiated a ‘Garbage collection and awareness project’.

“Six collecting centres and a delivery system have been organised to send collected waste to a recycling plant. Every person who visits Adam’s Peak must help make our program a success”
