The Annual Business Excellence Awards organised by the Galle District Chamber of Commerce was held at the Lighthouse Hotel Galle recently.
Chairman of Laugfs Holdings,H.K Wegapitiya was the chief guest. A large gathering of members and well-wishers were also present.
The Galle District Chamber set up 30 years ago, is one of the largest chambers outside Colombo and has a membership of over 500 at present. Several workshops to improve the standards of the business community and charity and religious work are also conducted annually. The awards ceremony was followed by the AGM.
Wegapitiya called upon the business community to expand their business outside Sri Lanka.
