On their way to the Supreme Court

Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya, PC making his way to the Supreme Court on Friday flanked by Solicitor General Dappula De Livera and Deputy Solicitor General Nerin Pulle to make submissions in the landmark case challenging the Gazette issued by President Maithripala Sirisena dissolving parliament on November 9. He maintained that actions open for judicial review are administrative and executive functions, and therefore this issue completely falls outside the ambit of the court’s jurisdiction.
