Veterans Wijetunge and Moraes felicitated

Veteran sportsmen Rajiva Wijetunge and Gamini Moraes were felicitated by the Mercantile Table Tennis Association (MTTA) at their Colours Night held on December 7.

Wijetunge of MAS was recognized for participating continuously for 40 years in table tennis tournaments conducted by the MTTA while Moraes of Astron has completed 37 years in participating in their tournaments.

One of founder members of MTTA, Eric Motha received the MTTA Hall of Fame Class of 2018 award.

Most valuable players of 2018 received a Rs100,000 worth scholarship from Esoft Metro Campus.

A total of 69 award winners from 29 companies attended this event. MTTA hosted four tournaments during the year by inheriting international table tennis playing methods.
