Kandy SC set to sign-off in style

23 December, 2018

The Dialog league rugby tournament 2018/19 first round matches will be completed today and table leaders and unbeaten Kandy Sports Club will be brimming with confidence when they take on the Navy Sports Club at Welisara today. Kick-off is at 4 p.m.

Kandy SC which has been in the forefront of club rugby for over two and half decades will play their last first round game. They have won all six matches they played so far and are hugging the table’s top spot while Navy SC in their six games have won three and lost three.

Kandy SC who enjoyed a better track record will be eager to take the upper hand in today’s game. For this game both sides have effected key changes in their starting lineup which has the ingredients of turning out to be a thriller.

The defending league champions Kandy SC go out with confidence. A victory will give them a good chance to pocket the league title for the 20th time.

The battle between the two respective sets of forwards should in particular be an unrelenting one with the two outfits hell bent on winning that extra bit of possession in order to provide even the slightest edge to their respective back division players.

Navy SC who play at their best in their home den will be at full strength and their forwards who are enjoying good rugby should continue from where they left.
