Exporters’ Chamber to participate in Jaffna International Trade Fair

6 January, 2019

The National Chamber of Exporters (NCE) will participate in the Jaffna International Trade Fair on January 25, for the sixth consecutive year.

The Fair is organised by Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (LECS). Members of the NCE will occupy 10 stalls at the exhibition in an ‘Exports Brands Pavilion’, to explore business with international buyers and to expand local sales. The National Institute of Exports (NIOE), the professional training affiliate of the NCE will have a separate stall in the Education Pavilion to promote the professional courses by the NIOE among export related stakeholders in the Northern Province. The NIOE conducts three professional courses at the Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma levels on International Trade Management.

The NIOE also conducts online courses which facilitate the execution of ‘Cross Border Trade Transactions’.

The online training courses are beneficial to employees in export oriented enterprises and school-leavers who wish to embark on a career in exports, with the advantage of being able to follow the online programs at their leisure, while being employed, or engaged in other educational activities.

The NCE will also lead a delegation of eight export-oriented member companies, with NCE and NIOE staff members, to gain first-hand experience on the activities of the exhibition, to explore opportunities to develop trade with producers in the Northern Province and to enhance export related business activities.
