Milinda Siriwardena and Kamindu Mendis produced solid partnership to guide Sri Lanka A to a lead of 32 runs with six wickets remaining against Ireland A on the second day of their four-day match at the SSC ground yesterday.

Sri Lanka A ended the day at 185 for 4 after Ireland A were bowled out for 153 with opening batsman James McCollum top scoring with 76.

Right arm medium fast bowler Mohamed Shiraz and slow left-arm orthodox spinner Lasith Embuldeniya four wickets each.

Sri Lanka’s first four wickets fell for just for 46 runs before Milinda Siriwardena (73) and Kamindu Mendis (64) maintained their patience to carry the team forward as Mark Adair picked three wickets for 34 runs.
