Dutch dairy sector delegation arrives here

13 January, 2019

A Netherlands dairy sector delegation, which includes representatives from companies specialised in storage of feed, processing and cooling equipment, technology consultation, agricultural machinery and vocational training and education, will visit Sri Lanka from January 14 to 17.

The Netherlands’s Embassy in Sri Lanka has organised the visit in collaboration with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce as a part of the embassy’s efforts to facilitate sustainable relationships between the Sri Lankan and the Dutch private sectors.

The focus of the mission is to enhance Dutch engagement within the dairy sector in Sri Lanka, transferring bilateral knowledge, know-how and facilitating B2B matchmaking.

The delegation will meet dairy farmers in Hatton and Nuwara Eliya. Meetings will be held at Hillside Inn, Hatton and Grand Hotel, Nuwara Eliya on January 15 and 16 with the participation of dairy farmers in the area.

Many Dutch farms are family based and middle sized. This makes the Netherlands an ideal partner to contribute to the development of the dairy sector in Sri Lanka.
