Indian schols for Sri Lankans

The Indian Government will offer scholarships for Sri Lankans under four categories to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD degrees in universities in India for the 2019-2020 academic year, the Indian High Commission to Sri Lanka said in a press release.

The Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme will cover undergraduate courses, including Engineering, Science, Business, Economics, Commerce, Humanities and Arts, except Medical or Paramedical, Fashion Design courses.

The Maulana Azad Scholarship Scheme will include Master’s degree courses, including Engineering, Science, Economics, Commerce, Humanities and Arts, except Medical or Paramedical and Fashion Design courses. Preference would be given to Engineering, Science and Agriculture.

The Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme will include undergraduate cources in Information Technology leading to a B.E or B.Tech Degree.

The Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme will include PhD degrees in subjects except Medical or Paramedical and Fashion Design courses.

The prospective candidates can download the application form from the website of the City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education Ministry at www.mohe.gov.lk. The closing date for submission of application forms is January 25.
