Fairfirst Insurance commenced operations with the Department of Posts in Colombo last week.

Fairfirst signed a Memorandum of Understanding late last year with the Department of Posts by which, the insurance products of Fairfirst will be available for purchase via the extensive postal network in Sri Lanka. A customer could purchase third party motor insurance over the counter at the post office.

Minister of Posts, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs, M. H. A. Haleem, Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe, Managing Director and CEO Fairfirst Insurance, Dr. Sanjeev Jha and officials of both parties were present.

The tie-up gives Fairfirst access to over 868 online branches and 201 sub branches during its initial phase of operations. This will expand to over 4,000 post offices islandwide.

Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe said, “It’s our pleasure to be partnering with a leading insurer like Fairfirst. We too have moved away from traditional postal services to remain relevant to changing times. Partnerships such as this uplift what we stand for and allow us to offer a superior service to people.”

Fairfirst is continuously assessing new avenues and partnerships that augment their growing distribution network in the country.

Already the insurer with the highest share of wallet with brokers, Fairfirst is also home to a comprehensive branch network, leading affinity partners, growing agency force, strong key account management team and a full-fledged online insurance purchasing platform.
